Chalkwell Ward Residents Association

We are the community organisation for the Chalkwell ward of Southend-on-Sea

 

Our aim is to encourage a sense of local community and foster interaction between local people and those who govern us at local level, and to support and inform people regarding local issues – from health, education and planning, to transport, parking and waste services. All residents and business owners in the ward are eligible to join. We are non-party and non-sectarian.

 

We hold 10 meetings each year, normally attended by one or more of our local councillors, with speakers on subjects of local relevance; forum for discussion of matters of local concern; regular newsletters; occasional social events, including an annual lunch and quiz night, and ad hoc activities, such as taking part in a litter pick. We are currently working to set up our own Community Speed Watch group.
